We're pretty excited about the Cubs playoff run (well, everyone but Chef Rodney who for reasons we can't understand is a Yankee's fan). So excited we've decided to offer our delicious single Cheeseburger, fries & PBR draft special for $10 during every Cubs playoff game; from the first pitch to the last out, come watch the Cubs and enjoy a cheap & delicious meal at the tavern while avoiding the madness of Wrigleyville.
Have you heard the word? Haywood is now open at 9am every Saturday & Sunday and our new expanded Brunch menu is served until 3pm. Come by and have a Croque Madame, Baked Eggs, French Toast or stick with the classic Breakfast Plate.
We're excited to announce Haywood Tavern is now serving BRUNCH every Saturday & Sunday from 11am to 3pm. As with our Tavern menu, you can expect items to change regularly in addition to the brunch staples: the Breakfast Plate, Sausage, Egg & Cheese Sandwich, Bloody Mary and coffee. Speaking of coffee, we're also stoked to have our very own blend from our friends over at Dark Matter (look for the nodes of Rodney & Jason's blood, sweat and tears). Peep the Food page to see what we've got cookin' and come say hello this weekend!
This 4th of July come join Haywood Tavern and our friends at PBR for the Blue Ribbon BBQ Party. Pre-game on our brand spankin' new outdoor patio or hang with us all day. We'll have cheap beers, lots of food and will kick things off at noon.
$10 gets you:
Plate of Pork Shoulder
PBR Tall Boy w/ PBR Coozy
RSVP on DO312 for a PBR hosted bar for the first hour.
Hope to see you there and HAPPY USA DAY!
We're excited to announce that our patio has opened this week! Come check out Humboldt Park's newest place to sip a cocktail, drink a beer or have a tasty meal in the great Chicago outdoors. We have much planned for the space including a 4th of July BBQ, new menu items and expanded hours. Details on those and other fun things will be released here so check back soon. In the meantime, once the summer weather cooperates, we look forward to drinking with you out back.
We've also just tapped Half Acre's Beer Hates Astronauts IPA, which has a 98% rating on Beer Advocate and is the self-proclaimed "liquid equivalent of a tiger eating a cheeseburger." Basically, it's the perfect beer to enjoy outside.
We're excited to announce Haywood has expanded the Tavern menu to include Weekly Offerings. Chef Rodney will be regularly changing this portion of the menu to showcase seasonal ingredients, local favorites and anything else he may be in the mood for. Be sure to stop in or check the Food page on the website to see what we've got going on.
The initial menu includes: Meyer Farms Lettuce, Beets (pictured), Grilled Hampshire Bacon, Calamari (pictured), Escargot (pictured), Smoked Roast Beef Sandwich (pictured) & Cornmeal Cake.
On a side note, we're working towards offering brunch in the near future along with an outdoor patio which should be ready to enjoy within the next week or two.
If you've been to Haywood, you've likely noticed the artwork hanging as you first enter the tavern. Humboldt Park tattoo artist (and awesome dude) Max Brown is the man responsible for adorning our walls with the beautifully hand-drawn fish, bull and rooster. Be sure to check out his tattoo shop (brownbrotherstattoo.com) located just down the street from us at 904 N. California Ave. The first person to get the Haywood Tavern logo tattooed on their body gets a free round on me.
The Chicago Reader challenged our Bartender-GM Jason to come up with a cocktail using carrots and the Mirepoix Cooler was born. You can watch the video below or check out their website for all the details should you decide to make one yourself. I'm still trying to convince Jason to put it on the menu at Haywood.
